I have seen some instances where people can not find specific artwork lately, so I decided to make a pinned topic for it.

For those of you looking to find artwork from a certain show, there are many ways to go about finding the artwork you are looking for.

1.) You could begin at the MetCoverArt Gallery and click on the section for what you are looking for (Audio Cover Art, Video Cover Art, Other Bands). Then once in a section you can find the year that the show was and browse through all the covers for that year until you find your show.

The covers are in chronological order, so looking for a November show on page 1 might turn out to be a waste of time.

2.) Secondly you can use the Search function. The search function is by far the easiest way to find a certain cover. Simply click on "Search" on the top right of the page and that will bring you to a page that looks like this...

Once on that page, you can enter into the search area many things.
You can enter the...

  • Date (must be formatted like YYYY MM DD)
  • Creator's Name
  • City Name
  • State Abbreviations
  • Country Name

Enter whatever you want and click "Search the file collection" and out pop your results. Just that easy and fun ;)

I hope this helps some of you guys find cover art for the first time or again. Please before making a cover request, check out the Gallery first to make sure covers have not been created already.

Specific Search Results

The easiest way to find cover artwork is by searching for the date in YYYY MM DD format. This can sometimes still bring a large list of results, and you may want to narrow your search down even further.

Below are some examples of code you can add to obtain more specific results. YYYY MM DD represents a generic date.

YYYY MM DD
This search outputs results for both audio and video covers.

YYYY MM DD DVD
This search outputs results for video covers only.

YYYY MM DD Username
This search outputs results for covers on a specific date that was created by a certain member. Obviously, the Username part should be changed to suit your needs.
